Effects of media on body image (Introduction)

#AllBodiesAreBeautiful

Nowadays, the most used social media platform for posting ''flawless'' photos of ourselves is probably Instagram. Instagram has around
1.074 billion users are publishing and sharing their snaps with others daily. Users can follow unlimited accounts with various topics such as fitness, cooking, fashion and many more. However, following accounts of models with perfect bodies can negatively impact women and men, and different studies on this topic prove it. I have decided to create a blog on this topic as I am part of the ''group'' that is easily influenced and has a negative feeling about myself the more I am scrolling through the platform. My aim is to look at this issue from the other side and show the readers accounts that can positively affect our bodies and view of ourselves. Moreover, I want to point out severe circumstances connected to our self-perception and social media. I believe that this topic is significantly essential, as it affects most users and can lead to severe problems such as eating disorders. Therefore, I consider this topic something that people should discuss in society better.
